REVIEW: 2 out of 5 stars

Redheads are Soulless was kindly provided to me by SupaGurl Tours as part of a blog tour I participated in a while ago and although the premise was great, it unfortunately wasn’t a book for me.

Redheads are Soulless is the story of 17 year-old Sofia Black who has led a difficult life since her father’s death 7 years prior and her mother turning to drugs and alcohol as a result, she is relentlessly teased at school and is a social outcast.

When new student, Jason Morgan arrives at school he is instantly drawn to Sofia and helps her wherever and whenever he can; he played the role of knight in shining armor perfectly.

Jason seemed like an absolute sweetheart and Sofia’s life changes for the better although she is still miffed about his unusual interest in her. When Robbie Morgan arrives a few weeks later, she is shocked Jason has a twin and he is absolutely nothing like Jason, he is a bad boy with snark but she is intrigued by him.

As the story progresses, Sofia finds out there is more to the twins than what she originally thought and she is also connected to them in a way she wouldn’t have believed possible. She has special powers as do they but unfortunately the paranormal aspect wasn’t fully explained for me to grasp their abilities fully.

I thought the concept of this book was interesting but unfortunately the way things were explained left me with a million and one questions and I am still completely clueless about what they are and their purpose, I would have loved more details.

I also felt the characters lacked development, we weren’t given enough about each of them to form a proper opinion and the back and forth love drove me a little batty but I am not one to enjoy a love triangle; I was surprised by how she was with Jason initially only to do a complete turnabout and fall for the bad boy who supposedly wants her dead – of course there is more to the story but I didn’t think the romance was done as well as it could have been. I also wanted to know more about the baddie, she popped in briefly but nothing about what she was was fully explained.

I did like the action scene which was fast paced, exciting and entertaining. The cover is also beautiful!

Ms White’s writing was simplistic and straight to the point and although I liked the premise of this story, I felt I needed to know more to fully appreciate it. I think less focus should have been placed on the romance and more on the characters and the setting.

Redheads are Soulless has received a lot of praise, so please don’t let my review deter you from reading this book, what’s good for me may not be for someone else.
